Has a planning application gone in yet?

Not yet, the land owner and developers will gauge local opinion about the proposed development before seeking the Parsh councils approval. So depending on the villager's opinion this development could be stopped before a full application goes in. Keep checking back to this site to stay up to date and we will let you know as soon as an application goes in.

How can I get involved or make my opinion known?

Why is this different to last time?

This time the proposed development is a lot closer to the village and includes houses and a village hall, but the same objections still exist and were rejected because - Feel free to copy and paste or use any of this website.

  

1  The proposed development, located within the open countryside and within flood zone 3b (functional flood plain) is an unsustainable form of development increasing reliance on the car contrary to policies S1, S3, D1 and P6 of the Sedgemoor District Core Strategy and Guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework, paragraphs 14, 100 and 101).

 2  The proposed development, located within the within flood zone 3b (functional flood plain), has failed to demonstrate how the development will remain safe over its lifetime and how occupants would be able to safely evacuate (including safe access and escape routes) during a flood event contrary to policy D1 of the Sedgemoor District Core Strategy and Guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework, paragraphs 100 and 101.

 3  The proposed development, due to its siting and appearance, would appear unsightly and incongruous, detracting from the character and visual amenities of the area contrary to policy D2 of the Sedgemoor District Core Strategy, Guidance in the National Planning Policy Framework, paragraphs 58 and 64 and advice in Sedgemoor Landscape Assessment and Countryside Design Summary Revised Edition- 2003.
